Decadence and Indulgence with Miena’s nougat

I loved working on the food photography shoot with Miena from Miena’s nougat. Miena approached me recently to organise a food photoshoot for her new nougat range with new flavours - called the “decadent” range. I have always admired Miena’s business, ever since she managed to get her nougat bars sold in Harrods! I was even more impressed to hear that she actually ships nougat to France too!

Anyway, I started as I always do with a shoot: explore the brand, find out what the tone is, the brand values, the syle etc. I had a call with Miena and as a reflection of the range name, decandent, we decided to go with a rustic/ gold theme. The gold expressing the luxurious image of the range and rustic to reflect Miena’s brand values. When we discussed props, Miena mentioned an old family piece, a tray that was fabricated by a family member in the past in South-Afirce, where Miena is from. It was absolutely perfect, it had the golden colour but was not too shiny, but more rustic as what we were looking for.

In preparation for the shoot, I always like to find some inspiration on Pinterest. This is a little part of the board that I put together:

On the day of the shoot, Miena brought the props and I added what was fitting. She also brought some ingredients to add. We started with the styled images for her online shop. I styled and photographed these images in line with previous images of other product range.

Next we proceeded with the images with the tray and the nougat. Miena didn’t want anything too styled, a bit of mess worked better, so that’s what we did. We added the golden touch with the light set up. And voila, some love decadent, opulent and indulgent images of an amazing nougat brand ...
