About

I can’t start my story telling how I got my first camera at 3 and that I have been hooked since. That did not happen. I always liked the visual arts though. I had this ambition in secondary school to become an ad designer. Which didn’t happen either, because I felt that I was not good enough. I went on to study French and Russian translation in Brussels instead. I loved finding creative ways of communicating the message in a different language. While I spent some time in Russia, travelling through the ex-Soviet countries, I brought my parents’ manual film camera. This is when I really started to enjoy taking photos.

Fast forward 10 years, we had some friends over for dinner. One of my friends was admiring a photo I took, that I had hanging in the living room. She said that I should take up photography. That’s when I started thinking about photography as a possible career…

My first Wedding

My professional photographer’s journey started in 2008. I was really flattered when my neighbours, at the time, asked me to capture their wedding! Even more so, because they were both working in the film industry and had a good eye. Their wedding was in Castle Leslie, co Monaghan. A beautiful setting and what made it even more special was their special guest: a horse! It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and always be very grateful for.

I continued doing wedding photography and also started to explore other types of photography: Portrait and Newborn photography.

In 2014 we moved from Ennis to Bray. This is when I started exploring business photography. I specialised in branding, products and headshots photography.

These types of photography helped me combine my love for photography with my interest in people. I have always been very interested in people. What is their background, what drives them, what is their story? This really helps me in photography. I try to get the best out of every person I have in front of the camera. The photo should show what the person is all about, their story. I want to help other business owners to create an impressive online presence. By photographing their business story, I want to offer a way to communicate their brand authentically and accurately. Just as I once did, when translating from one language to another.

I love Bray, close to Dublin, the sea and nature

Next thing was food photography. I started experimenting with food photography during the first lockdown in 2020. I started photographing my lunches.  This was the icing on the cake! Another passion box ticked!

I can help with styling as well as photography

I have always been a foodie. When I was 4, I used to steal the olives from the fridge. My mum is an amazing cook, she is from the South of Holland, an area very much influenced by the French gastronomic traditions. My grandparents always arrived at our house with a boot full of goodies: vlaaien (a fruit tart from the south of Holland), trout, white asparagus, fresh lambs lettuce and red onions straight from the field, fresh strawberries, a tray of grapes .... We spent our summers in the south of France where my favourite thing was to have dinner in the little restaurants in the fishing harbours… Food photography allowed me to showcase this love for food professionally.

I always loved my food

In 2022, I received licentiateship of the Irish Professional Photographers & Videographers Association, IPPVA, another milestone on this very exciting journey.

Today, I am very grateful to be able to call photography my job. I am delighted to help people create beautiful imagery to showcase their food, products, business story or themselves. Looking forward to working with you.
